Workplace – Mike Chilvers

  • For awareness: MobileIron reset Please be aware this is a Lilly run event and is separate to the reset required to migrate Elanco users to the new Elanco IT services. Users will receive comms from Lilly directly with instructions on how to manage this. For more information see this thread. Some employees will be due to migrate to the new Elanco IT services before the date of these planned JAMF changes. In this case, the change will not impact them, as after they are migrated, Elanco IT will manage their device instead of Lilly IT.
  • As you may have read in the recent path to independence article, we are planning for Box separation activities to commence late May/early June if testing is successful. The main impact to users will be that they will access Box using a slightly different URL. They will not change the ID they log in with, and they will not lose any access to their files. This is a separate activity to the Box document migration to O365, this will come later in 2020. You can find out more about Box Separation here: PTI: What to Expect with IT Changes
  • We’ve published some information on our Microsoft License Agreement and a positioning statement for PowerApps, you can find that here
  • A reminder that software does not need to be centrally packaged and/or managed for new Elanco devices. In most cases, software can be downloaded and installed leveraging the providers standard software distribution mechanism (e.g. O365 Portal, Adobe Creative Cloud Portal, etc.) In the event the software requires additional operating system privileges, the user would leverage our automated “Make Me Admin” tool (not yet available). We anticipate finalising the vendor selection for this tool early next week, with deployment ahead of Bison Day One.
    • If the software needs to be managed centrally to support distribution, license management and/or custom configuration, it should be delivered in the following formats: MSI, MSIX or INTUNEWIN. We would like to avoid many centrally managed software.

OCM  - Jo Hutchins-Joss

  • We’re currently working towards an enterprise rollout of new Elanco IDs (elancoah.com) to everyone in Elanco in preparation for some of Elanco’s key applications being transitioned to using Elanco SSO. In the coming weeks, all employees will receive their new Elanco ID and a temporary password. They will need to follow the instructions in the email to reset this password and activate their account. If they do not activate these details they will not be able to access applications like The Spot after 8th June 2020.

  • Further enterprise wide comms can be found in the latest Path to Independence .We are working to cascade this information through other appropriate channels such as digital signage and functional town halls.
  • We’re currently working through the logistics of day one experience for our new colleagues from Bayer Animal health when they join us in July.  This involves walking through the various combination of factors, equipment, resources, and support they will have available, and ensure they can access the help they need to get started with their new IT services.
  • Other items in progress: Working together through migrations (Bison edition), All Employee change webinar (6th May), All IT OCM update (13th May), Understanding O365 Tech Talk (TBD), cheat sheet templates & Getting Started Guides for BAH.

Training - Jo Hutchins-Joss

  • Unfortunately, COVID19 has presented some unforeseen challenges to international travel plans and timelines. As such, we have made the difficult decision that it is no longer possible to offer training onsite at locations.  Affected sites have been contacted this week.
  • The alternative options available will be:
    • TechOps hosted Webinars covering getting started content (Delivered in English only)
    • Where English language will not work for the site, we are offering train the trainer sessions in English over the coming weeks to equip local IT colleagues with the information they need to deliver training to end users in their native language. If you would like to nominate a resource or yourself to be included, and we have not yet spoken on this topic, please let me know. We are looking to get a first session in ahead of Bayer joining us in July so there will be a reasonably quick turnaround on this option.
    • If no local IT resource is available to deliver training, self-service options are already available and being added to on The Spot. Currently these resources are in English only. We are now working to provide some of these key articles on The Spot in the 10 official Elanco languages [Pending].

Bison – Tom Burton

  • Network: the Bison Network Bridge was setup on the Elanco side last week. Aim is to complete the Bayer side this week.
  • Identity: the team has successfully setup SSO in a DEV environment for Workday. The AD Trust is being configured between Elanco and Bayer/TCS over the coming weeks.
  • Sites: site planning continues. A small number of sites are at risk for Day 1 (backup plans are in place if required). Warehouses are a big focus for the upcoming week. We will be working closely with Bayer to determine approach for Day 1. There is a risk that some COF scope warehouses will need to follow workarounds/BCPs on Day 1.
  • Laptops: orders have made great progress over the recent weeks. Laptop shipment dates are in for many sites (some still pending).
  • Mobile Devices/iPads: this will be a big focus in the upcoming week to determine approach for providing devices and carrier contracts in NON-COF scope locations (and some COF scope ones).
  • Workplace: data migration for the NON-COF user data (e.g. email, onedrive) will be a big focus in the upcoming week. The workplace team is working closely with Bayer/TCS to determine HOW this will work.
