TechOps Transition Update

Only got a minute?  Here’s what you need to know from TechOps

  • Upcoming Lilly JAMF required changes (Workplace)
  • Lots more OCM and training resources available on The Spot (OCM)
  • Azure cloud can now be consumed for Non-GXP production workloads (Cloud)
  • Applications IT Tracker now available (Solutions Architecture)
  • Resource Hub for Developers & Admins is now available (Identity)

Workplace - Mike Chilvers/Jo Joss

  • Please note that Lilly are making some changes to the way that mobiles are managed. This is a separate activity to any migration activities resulting from Stallion or Bison, and something which is controlled and managed by Lilly. Users will still need a factory reset as part of their migration activities. We’re just reiterating the message for awareness.
    • From 2nd March new company mobile devices will be managed through Lilly JAMF.
    • From 14th March (for a few weeks) iPhones/iPads will need to be moved to Eli Lilly JAMF for devices set to English language in Zone 2.
    • Older assets not in DEP today will need full factory reset and reinstall, devices in DEP today will require action to reset all Eli Lilly apps/profiles. iPhone 6s/7/8 mainly.
  • Lilly will be communicating with affected users. We’ve asked for further information from Lilly and will provide an update as soon as it comes.

OCM & Training - Jo Hutchins-Joss

  • New resources available to help employees understand the changes coming.
    • On The Spot you will find multiple videos, which cover preparing and understanding change.
    • There’s an exec briefing video and slide deck available for driving conversations with the business. We ask that our IT colleagues do not edit or add to this slide deck to avoid any confusion, we’ve left this as a PowerPoint rather than a PDF to enable you to use it As-Is.
    • You can also find the Getting Ready Guide on The Spot.
    • The Getting Started Guide is 95% ready, we’re just waiting for some clarity on one final section before publishing this. This guide will also be available on The Spot, and we’re working to get this pushed to new computers as an icon or favourite on the desktop.
    • An update was sent out in the most recent Path to Independence, and we’re working on a refresh of IT FAQs coming out in the next PTI with answers to questions we couldn’t previously provide.
  • A full breakdown of resources available and in progress can be found here: TechOps – Ask Us Anything

Cloud – Lu Halstead

  • Azure cloud can now be consumed for Non-GXP production workloads, so unregulated cloud solutions.
  • The availability to consume Azure resources for GXP workloads is pending completion of qualification with Colo & Network and Identity as a dependency. But this is great news as a first step and many thanks to the hundreds of hours dedicated by TechOps, Quality and InfoSec to allow our initial production readiness.

Solutions Architecture – Calum Bell

  • To streamline the process for supporting applications to production on time, we have created a Project Tracker in MS Teams that provides everyone in IT with visibility into progress. Find out more here: Applications, IT Tracker

Network Architecture – Paul Graham

  • Currently wrapping up documentation and creating CMDB items
  • Gearing up for the final Colocation Datacentre readiness tests; we expect these to happen in the next 2 -3 weeks and will get us our GxP readiness qualification.
  • The workplace test lab in Basingstoke will undergo final commissioning next week and then be ready to hand over to our colleagues and see our first “Elanco” PCs and users connect to the network!

Identity - Mike Horton

  • Identity Access Management Resource Hub for Developers & Admins is now available. To get access send an email to access@elancoah.com with a subject of “IAM Box Access Request”, (an email will be forwarded to an admin) you will receive an email informing you of access to the Hub.
  • If you already have access to Box try this link first.
