Only got a minute, here’s what you need to know from TechOps:
- We’ve published our roadmap
- If you missed the Wave 3 OCM update, you can find the resources here
- Service Management: Baher AH (Bison) Integration has begun
- First production test users have been moved into the new Elanco environment
- TechOps are working on new training materials for IT to use to communicate change
Workplace
- First production test users have been moved into the new Elanco environment using the new Dell devices and setup process.
- This includes using Elanco Teams to talk with users in Lilly Skype for Business and leveraging our Elanco O365 Applications such as Email, Windows 10 and Collaboration tools.
- We’re now fixing some stuff that didn’t work the way we expected and making sure the user experience as simple and straight forward as we can.
OCM & Training - Jo Hutchins-Joss
- We’re begun to reach out to sites eligible for onsite training (100+ headcount) to explore their needs and options we can provide. Please be patient if you have not been contacted yet, we’re working on feedback between each site to improve our understanding of end user needs.
- We’re 80% through the Getting Started with your new Laptop guide.
- We’ve heard your feedback, and agree there’s a gap in preparing our end users for the changes ahead. More resources are coming to help users understand the changes before they migrate, in the form of videos, demos and change explainer decks. An example can be found here: (Note: please do not share outside IT as this is not the finished product). A sample list of the items planned:
- Explainer Videos:
- Overview of the TechOps changes
- Preparing for migration – Laptop/Desktop
- Preparing for migration - mobiles
- Comparing old and new tools
- Understanding how document migration will work
- What will happen on migration day?

Service Management - Ben Nuthak
Bayer AH (Bison) Integration has begun!
This week, representatives from Elanco, Alcor, TCS, and Bayer Animal Health met in Cologne, Germany to work through IT Service Management process and systems integration to enable the merging of Bayer AH with Elanco. In order to properly support Bayer AH employees throughout the acquisition, Tata Consultancy Services is setting up a separate IT Service Desk and ServiceNow instance which will be bonded in tooling and processes with Elanco’s. Coming out of this workshop, our team has agreed upon our process integration as well as the technical requirements for the system eBond. We have also identified the key risks and interdependencies with the other workstreams involved in the Bison project, which we will work to mitigate in the coming weeks.
Automated Infrastructure Discovery is Live!
One of the key capabilities of the ServiceNow platform is the tracking of all IT assets and inventory in one centralized location. This enables us to answer questions such as: What do we own? What does it cost? Is it secure? Is it efficient? Are we effective? In our legacy ServiceNow, this IT inventory data was tracked almost entirely manually, requiring an army of over 140 people partially allocated to maintaining this data. However, in an enormous leap forward for Elanco’s IT asset management, we have now deployed our first iteration of automated inventory tracking to collect this data via ServiceNow Discovery.
Our ServiceNow MSP is slowly activating additional probes of the Discovery tool to observe our inventory in Azure, the Co-Location Data Centers, and all our global sites with SD-WAN connections to the CoLos as they undergo their network cutover. As the team continues to calibrate the tooling and as we continue to bring additional sites into our network, we expect continued return on investment in this exciting new tooling.
