Leader Insights is a quarterly speaker series within the PEP IT Up! Program that will offer personal, first-hand accounts delivered by an accomplished leader. Each leader will tell his/her individual story by sharing the successes and, yes, even failures, that got them to where they are today. This “behind-the-success” access will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions about challenges, solutions, philosophy, inspiration, or the speaker’s view of the current IT Leadership Landscape.

This invitation is optional and the intended audience for Leader Insights is current Global M-Path leaders and those interested in M-Path leadership roles. Seating is limited to the auditorium capacity of 160, but this session will also be available via the Skype link in the Loop event. Additionally, this session will be recorded and available on the PEP IT Up! learning series page for those unable to attend.

On Friday, March 3rd, Gail Farnsley who is currently an Executive Partner with Gartner will share her leadership journey.  In her current role, Gail works with CIOs and other executives as a trusted advisor to help them achieve their business objectives.  Prior to joining Gartner, Gail spent most of her career in Information Technology – starting as a programmer at Public Service Indiana, spending 10 years as an analyst and manager in Atlanta with Georgia-Pacific, then joining Cummins, where she worked in various IT roles, including an assignment in the U.K., where she led IT for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  Her last role at Cummins was leading the global IT organization as VP of IT and CIO.

After Cummins, Gail took a “reverse sabbatical” – teaching at Purdue and launching the Affinity Group Alliance for the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). Gail co-taught a Women in Technology course and developed a CIO Leadership course and a study abroad program to take students to India over spring break to learn about the Indian IT services industry.  She continues to support the Global IT Leadership course and study abroad program at IUPUI in Indianapolis.
